Results of study on the synthetic pheromone EPSM with Rhyacionia buoliana (Lepidoptera, Olethreutidae)

, : Results of study on the synthetic pheromone EPSM with Rhyacionia buoliana (Lepidoptera, Olethreutidae). Gorskostopanska Nauka 14(4): 71-78

Ferokon traps were used with the synthetic pheromone EPSM in studies of R. buoliana in young Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris) stands in Bulgaria. Traps were hung at heights of 1, 2 and 3 m in the crowns. The results indicate that the technique can be used to predict and follow the population dynamics and flight of R. buoliana. The best height for the traps was 2 m, and the optimum season (in Bulgaria) was late May/early June to the end of July.
