Results of superovulation in two strains of rabbits by means of a single dose of PMSG

, : Results of superovulation in two strains of rabbits by means of a single dose of PMSG. Zuchthygiene 12(1): 14-18

Ovulation was induced in 81 New Zealand White does from an unselected line (line A) and 55 does from a line selected for litter size over 14 yr (line B). For females treated with 60 IU HCG, HCG + 80 IU PMSG 72 h later, and HCG + 60 IU PMSG, the av. number of corpora lutea was 11.1, 24.7 and 23.6 resp. in line A v 9.8, 41.0 and 47.8 in line B. For line A females treated with 3 mg FSH (6 doses, each of 0.5 mg, administered at 12 h intervals), the av. number of corpora lutea was 29.6.
