, : Results of sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas) research 1957-66. Memorandum, Federal Department of Agricultural Research, Nigeria (113): 8

Research carried out at Ibadan and especially at Umudike (where the records were lost during the 1967-70 Nigerian crisis) is summarized. In a sweet potato improvement program, 2342, 2291 and 2292 gave the highest tuber yields in variety trials at both stations; in 1963-5, 2342 yielded 5.8 ton/ac at Umudike. A series of trials showed that the optimum planting date was June and the optimum harvesting date was 140 days after planting.
