Results of testing laying hybrids for combining ability

, : Results of testing laying hybrids for combining ability. Tierzucht 31(8): 351-353

For 17 lines of hens of unspecified type and 272 two-way and 4-way crosses between these lines at Merbitz, 450-day production averaged 185.9 and 186.3 eggs resp. The best 5 crossbred lines showed 5.4-20.5% heterosis for egg production.

Solanum melongena' var. potangi, an alleged progenitor of eggplant or brinjal (S. melongena), has not been described validly.
