Results of tests for inhibitors in slaughter pigs

, : Results of tests for inhibitors in slaughter pigs. Fleischwirtschaft 55(10): 1459-1460

Kidney and muscle samples from 28 872 pigs slaughtered normally at six abattoirs were sent to the central Institute of the Bavarian Animal Health Service, where they underwent a routine test for inhibitors using B. subtilis BGA. Positive tests were given by 511 (1.77%) of the pigs; in 0.014% both muscle and kidney were positive, in 1.628% only the kidney and in 0.128% only muscle.
