Results of the control of broad bean weevil (Bruchus rufimanus Boh.) by organophosphorus preparations on broad bean crops for consumption and for seed

At the Research Institute of Vegetable Crops at Reguly near Warsaw in Poland, emulsion concentrates containing 50% fenitrothion (Folithion) or dichlorvos (Nogos G) applied as 0.15% sprays were tested in 1970-71 for the control of Bruchus rufimanus Boh. on table and seed crops of broad bean From the results, which were subjected to statistical analysis, fenitrothion appeared to be much more effective than dichlorvos, although both sprays reduced the numbers of larvae per seed.
