The results of examination of 1,732 people from 5 villages in the lower Mangoky Valley, Madagascar, for parasitic and other diseases are given in detail. Schistosoma haematobium was found in 190 (10.6%), S.mansoni in 67 (3.9%), hookworm in 40 (2.3%), ascarids in 111 (6.4%), Trichuris in 61, Taenia in 10, Hymenolepis nana in 66, oxyurids in 6 (3.5%) and Enterobius in 17 (1%).
