Results of the first elite barley yield trial (EBYT) 1975-1976

, : Results of the first elite barley yield trial (EBYT) 1975-1976. Information Bulletin, Centro Internacional de Majoramiento de Maiz y Trigo: 26

Results are reported for 25 cultivars grown at 17 sites in Africa, Asia, Canada, Mexico, Iraq, German Federal Republic and Bolivia. The range of adaptability, measured by yield, in the 20 CIMMYT lines ranged from very poor to very good. Although the average yield of local varieties was higher than that of the CIMMYT lines, some of the lines, such as CM67-Mona which was among the five best yielders at eight sites, showed an acceptable degree of adaptability.
