Results of the international cultivar yield trials of cowpeas, soyabean and pigeon pea

, : Results of the international cultivar yield trials of cowpeas, soyabean and pigeon pea. Tropical Grain Legume Bulletin (8): 53

From data collected from 91 participants in the International Cultivar Yield Trials in 1976 in W. and E. Africa, Asia and Latin America with cowpea, the most consistently high yielders were VITA-4 and TVx 30-3C which showed adaptation to a wide range of environments. In 1974 the highest yielding soyabean were Jupiter and Bossier, but in 1975 TGx 13-3-2644, TGm 131-1-1-5 and TGm 249-2-1-6 also gave good yields. Seedling emergence was a major problem.
