(Cf. preceding abstract) Describes the hydrology of an upland fynbos-covered catchment, in the winter-rainfall region of South Africa, that has been protected against fire since it was accidentally burnt in 1942. In the intervening period the fynbos has regenerated, reaching a dense, rather stagnant phase, and streamflow has decreased by ca. 1% p.a.
