Results of the sugar beet cultivar trials carried out in Belgium in 1973-1975

, : Results of the sugar beet cultivar trials carried out in Belgium in 1973-1975. Publication Trimestrielle, Institut Belge pour l' Amelioration de la Betterave 44(1): 1-55

In trials in 1975 at 6 locations, average sugar beet root yields of 43 cultivars was 59.73 t/ha; highest yields were given by Zwaan Poly, KWS M79 and Kawegigapoly (65.5, 63.4 and 63.1 t/ha, respectively). Averaged over 1973-5 Zwaan Poly, Kawegigapoly and Tribel were the highest yielding. Data on root fibrosity, the height of the crown above the soil and the ability to produce early cover is tabulated.
