Results of the third extensive storage trial with Golden Delicious in 1974-75

Golden Delicious apples from 6 districts were picked on 17-24 September, 1-9 and 15-17 October and stored either in ordinary CA stores (6-7% CO2, 14-15% O2) at 3 deg C or in scrubbed CA stores (3-5% CO2, 3% O2) at 3 deg or 1 deg , and the incidence of various storage disorders was assessed on 3 and 11 June. The incidence of skin browning was low and occurred only at 3 deg , especially in late-picked fruit stored in 3-5% CO2.
