Results of the transfer of frozen sheep embryos

, : Results of the transfer of frozen sheep embryos. Medycyna Weterynaryjna 33(9): 552-554

31 ova recovered surgically from superovulated Polish Merino Tsigai ewes were frozen in Dulbecco solution to -80 deg C, and were stored for 2 mth at -196 deg. Of the 31 ova, 9 were in the 8- to 16-cell stage and 22 in the morula or early blastocyst stage. For the 2 types resp., the number of undamaged ova after thawing was 7 and 19. Six ova at the 8- to 16-cell stage were transferred in oviducts of 4 ewes, and 15 early blastocysts into uteri of 8 ewes.
