Results of tolerance tests in glycogenosis type I

, : Results of tolerance tests in glycogenosis type I. Deutsche Gesundeitswesen 31(41): 1851-1856

In 3 children with type 1 glycogenosis, oral and parenteral tolerance tests were made with different hexoses and glycerol 2 g/kg, glucagon 50 mu g/kg, epinephrine 30 mu g/kg and diazoxide 50 to 100 mg. After glucose by mouth blood glucose rose sharply but fell to hypoglycaemic values after 1 to 2 h. Glucose reduced the high fasting lactate values. The fall in blood glucose was not affected by glucagon, epinephrine, galactose, fructose or glycerol but lactate rose, except after glycerol.
