Results of treatment of clinical mastitis

, : Results of treatment of clinical mastitis. Svensk Veterinartidning 28(5): 187-189

2-3 months after routine treatment of 988 cases of bovine mastitis it was found that 66, 44-51 and 28% of samples from quarters originally infected with Escherichia coli, streptococci and Staphylococcus aureus, respectively, were free from infection, but in 8, 16-25 and 60% of cases the infection had persisted. In 20, 14-19 and 9% the quarters were atrophied or the cow had been slaughtered. In the remaining cases new infective agents were detected.
