Results of treatment with Gestafortin in cows and heifers with ovarian hypoplasia and functional anoestrus

, : Results of treatment with Gestafortin in cows and heifers with ovarian hypoplasia and functional anoestrus. Veterinary Medical Review (1): 55-62

In five trials, cows and heifers aged 4-10 years, with ovarian hypoplasia or functional anaphrodisia, were given chlormadinone acetate by i/m injection or in tablet form, with or without subsequent administration of PMS. Within 2-5 days, more than 90% of the animals came into season and more than 75% of these conceived, the highest fertilization rate occurring in the second oestrous period after treatment.
