, : Results of treatments for control of beet weevils in farming complexes. Rastitelna Zashchita 24(3): 14-16

The measures currently used to control the beet weevils Bothynoderes punctiventris (Germ.) and Psalidium maxillosum (F.) on beet at two agricultural complexes in Bulgaria are as follows. In old beet-fields due for hoeing, granules of phorate (Thimet 5) are applied at 30 kg/ha, and between the time of appearance of the first adults and the beginning of migratory flight, cartap (Padan 50) is applied as a spray at 1.0 kg/ha, or fenthion (Lebaycid 40) at 2.5 kg/ha.
