A total of 233 winter and spring varieties from 14 European and five other countries were tested over the whole period; the number in any one year was not more than 141, inferior varieties being excluded from further trial. Fertod 293 and the Soviet variety Bezostaya 1 were used as standards. Tables show the yield data for the individual years.
