Winter rye, winter wheat and oats were grown at 4 sites with N fertilizer applied either (a) all in spring, (b) two-thirds in spring and one-third at Feekes stage 8, (c) one-third in spring and two-thirds at Feekes stage 8 or (d) all in spring with additional 60 kg N/ha applied at Feekes stage 8; amounts applied were 80, 120 or 160 kg N/ha to winter wheat and 60 or 100 kg N/ha to winter rye and oats. Grain yield, yield structure and grain protein content are given.
