Results with herringbone milking parlours in a 1900-cow dairy farm

, : Results with herringbone milking parlours in a 1900-cow dairy farm. Tierzucht 31(5): 216-218

A detailed analysis is made of the milking process in a 2 X 12 modified Impulsa M632 herringbone parlour operated by 2 workers. The analysis is based on measurements of average time taken for the various operations involved in the milking process (pre-milking and cleaning of udder, application of cluster, machine stripping, driving the cows in and out of the parlour, etc.) in 3 parlours at the Stabelow dairy farm in the Rostock district of the German Democratic Republic.
