Results with modern methods of mastitis diagnosis

, : Results with modern methods of mastitis diagnosis. Schweizer Archiv fur Tierheilkunde 120(4): 163-170

Results are discussed of several experiments investigating (i) the relationship between milk yield losses and high cell counts due to subclinical infection, (ii) the effect of lactation stage on cell counts of non-infected quarters, and (iii) the relationship between milk yield and mastitis incidence. An impulse cytophotometer was used to count somatic cells by nucleic acid determination.
