Retarded skeletal maturation in the progeny of rats malnourished during pregnancy and lactation
Toews, J.G.; Lee, M., 1975: Retarded skeletal maturation in the progeny of rats malnourished during pregnancy and lactation. Nutrition Reports International 11(3): 223-230
Food intake of mother rats and growth hormone treatment of offspring were as in the previous abst. The young were X-rayed at regular intervals and progress of skeletal maturation was estimated by means of a scoring system. Growth hormone had no effect on skeletal maturation of restricted or control offspring. Early in life, restricted offspring given growth hormone or not lagged behind controls in forelimb, hindlimb and total bone maturity score.
