Retention of atmospheric dust by vegetation

, : Retention of atmospheric dust by vegetation. Annales de Gembloux 79(1): 11-24

Part of the study reports work on the retention of dust on the foliage of various coniferous and broadleaved (evergreen and deciduous) tree species, growing in an area exposed to SO2 pollution in the Botanic Garden, Liege, Belgium. Leaves were sampled at intervals during 1949-1950, and data are tabulated for amounts of soluble and insoluble matter removed from the leaves by careful washing.
