, : Reticulocyte size in nutritional anemias. Blood 48(5): 669-677

Reticulocyte size was measured by a planimetric method. The ratio of the area of reticulocyte (Re) to that of non-reticulated erythrocyte (nRE) in 17 normal subjects was 1.125. The mean Re volume (MRV) was defined as (Re area/nRE area)3/2 X mean corpuscular volume (MCV), with a normal value of 106 ft.
