Retrospects and prospects in nutrition education

The state of nutrition knowledge at the turn of the century is described. Several early nutrition education programs and pioneering educators are mentioned in the fields of professional education, community education and service, and school nutrition education. The prediction is that current trends in nutrition education will continue. The need for well prepared, well informed nutrition specialists and nutrition educators at all levels is stressed.
