Only six notifiable diseases - anthrax, fowl pest, bovine tuberculosis, sheep scab, swine vesicular disease and equine infectious anaemia - were diagnosed; the country remained free from the other 14. PPD derived from bovine strains replaced the human tuberculin previously used and, even though this may have shown up more reactors, the incidence of reactors in Great Britain, except Southwest England (where it was 0.091%), was only 0.018%.
