Liquid yeast (Saccharomyces uvarum var. carlsbergensis) residue from beer brewing had 13.5% DM, 7.1% total protein and 3.5% ash. White Leghorn chickens 7 days old were in 4 groups; controls had 78.9% dry feed with 21.1% water added, one experimental group had 75% dry feed with 25% liquid yeast and a second had 75% dry feed, with 21.1% water and 3.9% DM from the liquid yeast. The fourth group had 78.9% dry feed with 21.1% liquid from the liquid yeast.
