Returns on investment in research and extension: a study of Indo-Swiss cattle improvement project, Kerala

, : Returns on investment in research and extension: a study of Indo-Swiss cattle improvement project, Kerala. Indian Journal of Agricultural Economics 32(3): 207-216

Estimates are made of returns to investment in the cattle improvement programme of the Indo-Swiss project in Kerala, in five stages: (1) population of adult crossbred cows, (2) milk production and value of inputs, (3) value of inputs saved (benefit of the project), (4) benefit as annual flow and cumulated research and extension expenditure, and (5) external and internal rates of return and benefit-cost ratio.
