Data drawn from several experiments in which the ovulation rate in the first 17 days of mating was recorded either by laparoscopy or slaughter of the ewes between days 22-35 of pregnancy were used to examine the effect of number of ovulations (1 v 2) and position of ovulation (left v right ovary) on returns to service, embryonic mortality and lambing performance.
