Reusable plastic trays for rearing beet armyworms and cabbage loopers

, : Reusable plastic trays for rearing beet armyworms and cabbage loopers. Journal of the Georgia Entomological Society 11(2): 183-186

A method is described by which large numbers of Spodoptera exigua (Hb.) and Trichoplusia ni (Hb.) were reared in the laboratory using washable plastic trays for the artificial larval diet and thus obviating the need for large numbers of disposable containers. Savings in space and labour needed to rear the insects and in cost of containers were achieved.
