Revegetation of a sterile spoil mound in a mediterranean climate

, : Revegetation of a sterile spoil mound in a mediterranean climate. Revue Forestiere Francaise 30(3): 206-217

An account of the revegetation, by the Office National des Forets, of calcareous rock spoil derived from bauxite mining near Baux-de-Provence, France. The spoil mound (60 m high and 300 m long) was terraced, and the terraces were covered with fine bauxite (to form an impermeable layer) followed by a layer of local soil 0.4-0.8 m deep.
