Reversal of niacin inhibited growth by gibberellic acid in green gram (Phaseolus radiatus L.)

, : Reversal of niacin inhibited growth by gibberellic acid in green gram (Phaseolus radiatus L.). Current Science 45(24): 871-873

P. radiatus seeds soaked in 1000 ppm niacin (a vitamin of the B group) and/or 50 ppm GA solution for 24 h were germinated and grown in distilled water for 8 days. Niacin inhibited growth by 60-80%, GA stimulated it by 40-50% and niacin + GA stimulated it by 900%, compared with untreated controls.
