Reverse cage: the cage of the future

, : Reverse cage: the cage of the future. Feedstuffs, USA 50(7): 24-25

The experiment was with 1872 Harco Red X Rock sex-linked pullets from 16 weeks. Of these 488 were housed 2 birds/cage of 25.4 X 45.7 cm (groups A and B) and 600 were housed 3 birds/cage of 30.5 X 45.7 cm (groups C and D), both conventional cages with the feeding trough on the short side. The remaining 792 birds were housed 3 birds/cage in 45.7 X 30.5 cm cages (groups E, F and G), reverse cages with the trough on the long side.

Cable skidding productivity decreases in partial-cutting operations because the scattered felled trees make it difficult to obtain full loads and the need to minimize damage to the site imposes tight restrictions on skidder travel.
