Reversibility of the process of photoperiodic induction in the bug Pyrrhocoris apterus

, : Reversibility of the process of photoperiodic induction in the bug Pyrrhocoris apterus. Zoologicheskii Zhurnal 57(4): 540-547

Reproductive activity in females of Pyrrhocoris apterus (L.) has been shown in the USSR to be under photoperiodic control, diapause being induced by short-day conditions and continued reproduction by long-day ones. Further studies indicated that the stages sensitive to photoperiodic changes were the last nymphal instars and the adult.
