Reversible arrest of chromosome movements and microtubule (mt) rearrangements at low temperature (lt)
Bajer, A.S.; Lambert, A.M., 1976: Reversible arrest of chromosome movements and microtubule (mt) rearrangements at low temperature (lt). Journal of Cell Biology 70(2, II): 128a
When the temperature of dividing endosperm cells of Haemanthus katherinae and H. albiflos was reduced from 20 plus or minus 4 to 2.5 plus or minus 1 deg C, chromosome movements were arrested in all stages of mitosis. A 10 min exposure during anaphase reduced kinetochore-microtubule numbers, by 50-66% while nonkinetochore microtubules were absent.
