Reversible attachment and localization of the acid-stable seminal plasma acrosin-trypsin inhibitors on boar spermatozoa as revealed by the indirect immunofluorescent staining technique

, : Reversible attachment and localization of the acid-stable seminal plasma acrosin-trypsin inhibitors on boar spermatozoa as revealed by the indirect immunofluorescent staining technique. Hoppe-Seyler's Zeitschrift für Physiologische Chemie 356(9): 1473-1476

Monospecific rabbit gamma -globulins against highly purified, acid-stable acrosin-trypsin inhibitors from boar seminal fluid were used to determine the localisation of these inhibitors on boar spermatozoa using indirect immunofluorescence. Ejaculated spermatozoa exhibited high fluorescence in the region of the acrosomal cap; acrosin inhibitors could not be detected in testicular and epididymal spermatozoa. The acrosin inhibitors were mostly absent from inseminated uterine spermatozoa.
