Reversible lenticular aberrations in Beagle dogs given diazoxide intravenously

, : Reversible lenticular aberrations in Beagle dogs given diazoxide intravenously. Veterinary Medicine, Small Animal Clinician 71(2): 190-195

During an organotoxicity study, transient lenticular aberrations resembling experimentally-induced sugar cataracts were observed in 2 of 6 Beagle dogs treated with diazoxide at 30 mg/kg twice a day for 14 days. In one dog, the lenticular changes were associated with reversible hyperglycaemia and glycosuria; these lesions regressed with only one small area of opacity remaining 58 days after treatment.
