Review of national dairy policies in 1975-76

, : Review of national dairy policies in 1975-76. Monthly Bulletin of Agricultural Economics and Statistics 26(1): 13-18

This annual review, largely based on replies from 35 countries and the EEC Commission to an FAO questionnaire, focuses on the following topics: accumulation of surpluses in 1975/76; curtailment of surplus milk production in Australia and Canada (with similar measures in Austria, Switzerland and the EEC); milk producer prices in developed countries; use of dried skim-milk for animal feeding and as food aid; butter stocks; consumer prices in centrally planned countries; dairy development in developing countries (e.g. expansion of the school milk scheme in Iran); international market prices; and outlook for the future (especially in the EEC, where substantial changes in the dairy situation are considered unlikely in the medium term).
