Hendy, K., 1975: Review of natural pastures and their management problems on the north coast of Tanzania. East African Agricultural and Forestry Journal 41(1): 52-57
Sown pasture of Panicum maximum, Hyparrhenia rufa, Chloris gayana, Centrosema pubescens, Stylosanthes gracilis and Phaseolus atropurpureus, and natural pasture oversown with S. gracilis in Uganda were grazed rotationally by Small East African Zebu bullocks of starting weight 204 to 227 kg. Stocking rate was the same for all, about 0.3/ha in the wet season and 0.4/ha in the dry. Changes in botanical composition of the pastures during the 3 years of the trial are shown.
