, : Review of recent developments in the world tea economy. Part II. Integrated programme for commodities. Review of recent developments in the world tea economy Part II Integrated programme for commodities: 12

Since reaching record levels at the end of the first quarter of 1977, tea auction prices have been declining steadily; mid-November prices at auction centres other than in India were less than half their March/April levels and were at or below the levels of a year earlier. A major factor behind the decline in prices was the fact that production in 1977 was much higher than in 1976.
