Review of regional project NC-2

, : Review of regional project NC-2. Journal of Dairy Science 60(3): 493-498

A brief account is given of original and revised objectives of a dairy cattle breeding project being carried out by 12 stations in northern central states of the USA, Alaska and the Animal Physiology and Genetics Institute of USDA. The main aims are to monitor changes that occur with intense selection for milk yield and to use data from intensely selected dairy herds to formulate a better measure of individual economic merit.
