Serum-lipids in horses, ponies, donkeys and mules

, : Serum-lipids in horses, ponies, donkeys and mules. Proceedings of the First International Symposium on Equine Haematology, 28th-30th May 1975: 1977; 228-236

Normal serum values of total lipids, phospholipids, triglycerides, total cholesterol and lipoprotein-fractions were determined in the English Thoroughbred, the half-blooded horse, the Swiss draught horse (Freiberger), the Norwegian Fjord horse, the Iceland-, Welsh- and Shetland pony, the Sardinian donkey and the mule. Different breeds were compared with each other. The donkey showed the highest values for total lipids, neutral fat and phospholipids.
