Statistical sampling applied to detailed large scale mapping of Oak forests

, : Statistical sampling applied to detailed large scale mapping of Oak forests. Translation, Environment Canada (OOENV TR-1062): 21

Discusses problems of large-scale mapping of polydominant biocoenoses, to which the Russian forest-steppe Oak forests belong. Examples are drawn from the literature to show how advances in the practice of topographical survey and forest inventory, and in statistical theory, suggest wider possibilities for the application of statistical sampling in vegetation mapping and forest surveys.
