Structure of the interface between wood and synthetic polymer. VI. Separation of cell-walls from wood-polymer composite (WPC) by ultrasonic method and existence of polymer in the wood cell-wall

, : Structure of the interface between wood and synthetic polymer. VI. Separation of cell-walls from wood-polymer composite (WPC) by ultrasonic method and existence of polymer in the wood cell-wall. Mokuzai Gakkaishi Journal of the Japan Wood Research Society 21(3): 144-150

Specimens of sapwood of Chamaecyparis obtusa were impregnated with dioxan or methanol solutions of methyl methacrylate, which was polymerized by thermal treatment. Polymer present in the lumina was removed by ultrasonic treatment as indicated by phase-contrast, electron and fluorescence microscopy.
