, : The capacity of the females of northern house mosquito Culex pipiens molestus Forsk. for repeated autogenous ovogenesis. Soobshcheniya Akademii Nauk Gruzinskoi SSR 75(1): 193-196

Culex pipiens pipiens L. and C. pipiens molestus Forsk. are both found in Sukhumi in Georgia (Soviet Union); 81.3% of females of C. p. molestus that fed on water were found to be autogenous, as were 82.3% of those fed on syrup. Of these, 8.3% also were capable of repeated autogeny following further feeds on carbohydrates. The maturation of the ovaries to Christophers' stage V occurred in all females of C.p. molestus during blood feeding.
