The land which is being developed

, : The land which is being developed. Afrika Heute (13/14): 276-278

Land reform in Algeria is discussed in the light of the "Charter for agrarian revolution, 8 November, 1971". This so-called "revolution" in the farm sector springs from basic land reform. Approximately 65 per cent. of the population is engaged in farming as a means of livelihood and it is with this in mind that the need is vital for reaching reforms which will raise productivity and rural incomes far above present levels to be carried through to other sectors of the economy.
