The net energy content of pig feeds according to the rostock formula the value of starch in the feed

, : The net energy content of pig feeds according to the rostock formula the value of starch in the feed. Zeitschrift für Tierphysiologie, Tierernahrung und Futtermittelkunde 34(4): 199-204

A series of 5 experiments, not described in this paper, were done to estimate the energy value of cereals, maize starch, cereal byproducts, dried cassava roots, peas, sugar, fat, dried apple pomace, dried citrus pulp and molasses in mixed feeds for pigs from 20 to 100 kg liveweight. A total of 22 mixed feeds were tested and 582 pigs used. Raw materials were analysed by the Weende method and the Rostock formula was used to calculate net energy as basis for substituting feeds.
