The nutrient status of the soil and the appearance of symptoms of microbial disease

, : The nutrient status of the soil and the appearance of symptoms of microbial disease. Fertilizer Use and Plant Health Proceedings of the 12th Colloquium of the International Potash Institute, Izmir, Turkey, 1976: 133-140

A study was made of the relationship between plant behaviour and soil physical and chemical conditions, including field investigations and experiments under controlled conditions. With asparagus, soil texture, drainage and soil Ca content influenced degeneration of the crop. Experiments in nutrient solution showed, among other things, that symptoms of Fusarium attack and the quality of shoots was determined by the Ca content of the medium.
