The requirements and functions of education for farmers

, : The requirements and functions of education for farmers. Rurale Entwicklung zur Uberwindung von Massenarmut: Beitrage von Schulern und Mitarbeitern: Hans Wilbrandt zum 75 Geburtstag: 321-332

The educational standard of peasant farmers, as all socio-cultural needs, is dependent on the current state of development, and is therefore itself a result of the learning process. In primitive societies and among self-sufficient peasants people learn informally in the "family school" what the requirements of their daily life demand. Formal school education is regarded as a pre-condition for being able to utilize opportunities to earn non-agricultural incomes.
