A report on a 3-yr-old block-design experiment planted in autumn 1970 on a NW-facing slope (mean angle 16 deg ) of a 500-ha sand pit in glacial deposits near Zabkowice Slaskie. Growth varied markedly with distance down the slope and was best just below mid-slope.
